There's a way to auto-login for Windows XP. However, it only works if you are NOT a member of a windows domain. Most users like this option, although I do not recommend it due to security concerns.
- Goto Start -> Run
- Type control userpasswords2
- Remove the checkmark on Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
- Click on Apply
An Automatically Log On dialog box appears - Type the username and password you wish to auto-login
That's it...
