Milford Sound

Milford Sound, also known as Piopiotahi, was something that was alien to me before I embarked on my New Zealand 12 day tour. To my surprise, it's also known to some as the Eighth Wonder of the World and it's one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The tour that I was in included a boat tour that brings us all the way out of the Milford Sound to the big open sea. Below shows the boat that I was in.

One thing to note about the boat tour is that food is not included unless it is specifically stated in your boat tour ticket, but you are allowed to bring your own food on board. The sandwiches are quite good though, although it costs NZD4 a piece. Chicken and Cranberry Sandwich. Yum yum. Coffee and Tea are free flow on board.

The boat cruise will navigate along Milford Sound and bring us out to the open sea and back. Below are some of the photos that I've taken on board.

There is another tour called the Doubtful Sound which I heard was quite good too. It is however further away so if you're intending to visit both places, you might want to stay at Te Anau.
