I've always treated studies as a guideline to doing certain things and I could never understand why some people can take whatever that's written / spoken as the only truth. Ever heard of people saying "It's like this because so and so said so"?
Do not look at things at face value and look a little deeper if you have the time. You may discover something that no one has realised. That's how people "invent".
