Diversity: the art of thinking independently together.
Diversity is important in any thought process. Diversity of views is where everybody's views are independent. If everyone comes from the same background or with the same perspective of the issue at hand, then that is no longer diversity. It will just become a scenario where everyone is trying to reinforce a certain point, and there is no longer any diversity.
