As much as I do not want to admit it, she's right. Most of the time, we're face with making choices not of our choosing, and we usually end up with the above. The ideal case is you can take the choice that allows you to change it so that it is similar to what you have thought of in the first place.

Your last sentence explain the reality of life that it is easier said than done. We all can say anything easily but when its the time to do, when realize that how much it is difficult to do it.
